Welcome to Southlake

Spread out in this small town, rich with charm and casual elegance

A neighborhood community with sophisticated style, Southlake promises luxury living, ample acreage, and privacy. You’re away from the frantic pace of life in the Dallas/Fort Worth area (though still convenient enough to get there when you want to), feeling instead a peaceful, planned lifestyle that feels like an urban oasis. There’s all the charm of a small town but with the perks of the big city, from professional sports venues to high-end shopping. Not only are families drawn here for the top-rated public schools, but so are celebrities, particularly pro athletes. Numerous A-listers and CEOs call this community home, touting its camaraderie and comfortable ambiance.

What to Love

  • The sophisticated, small-town feel
  • Easy access to the DFW area
  • Countless upscale shopping and dining options
  • Professional sports venues nearby

Local Lifestyle

Much of Southlake’s social life centers on the walkable Southlake Town Square, where you’ll find shopping, dining, art, and culture. Nightlife simmers here instead of boiling, which feels just right for this family-centric community. You might grab a cocktail with a friend at The Ginger Man, solve puzzles with your neighbors at the Red Door Escape Room, or see the latest blockbuster at Harkins. Whatever the season, Southlake bustles with festivals and events for all, from Oktoberfest to Home for the Holidays, complete with a snow hill and carriage rides.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Dallas is just an Uber ride away if you’re seeking bubbling nightlife and even more shopping, but most Southlake residents are more than satisfied with their community’s dining, entertainment, and retail options. At Southlake Town Square, you can shop, dine, and even spend the night for a fun staycation. Browse and buy to your heart’s content at top brands such as Free People, 7 for All Mankind, and Athleta. Pick up swanky home goods at Anthropologie, Manor Home & Furnishings, and Sugarboo & Co.

When hunger strikes, stick around for seafood at Rockfish Seafood Grill, Japanese specialties at Ozeki Ramen & Sushi, or Italian favorites at Brio Italian Grille.

Feedstore BBQ, known as Southlake's oldest retail establishment, woos locals and visitors alike for its famous, finger-licking-good pork ribs, Papa Bill’s burgers, chicken-fried steak, and of course, all the fixins, from Mama’s green beans to mac-n-cheese.

Things to Do

It’s easy to play all day in Southlake, whether you’re taking a cooking class at Central Market, watching the kids giggle their way down water slides at the Marq community center pool, or attending an outdoor concert at the Masterworks Music Series. Take in a performance of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra or the Avant Chamber Ballet. Bring a blanket and a picnic dinner to Southlake Town Square’s Family Park for an alfresco music concert.

Get outside at the Bob Jones Nature Center & Preserve, with more than 20 miles of hiking trails ranging from a quarter-mile to about two miles. Listen for songbirds and watch for wildlife tracks from deer, coyotes, and bobcats. Want more exercise? Hit the Southlake Tennis Center courts, with its 19 lighted hard courts. There are also two lighted courts in Bicentennial Park.

Take a walk and look for Southlake’s varied public art, a remarkable collection that displays the city’s culture and charm. Highlights include the “Bob & Almeady Jones” sculpture in Bob Jones park, the gravity-defying, cantilevered, steel “Take-Off” at Park Village, and “Leonardo’s Horse” in Lake Carillon Park.
